I finished radiotherapy treatment on the 10th august and had an appointment for a check-up on the 10th. October. my consultant at the haematology and oncology centre suggested that the tumour had come back and offered another crack with different chemotherapy drugs.
these would be in tablet form and would start 24 hours after having a ct scan on the 10th, December.
day 1 lombustine
days 1-10 cyclophosphamide
days 1-10 etoposide
days 1-7 prednisolone
to repeat every 28 days.
it is going to be a cracking Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!
in the meantime I am giving the patio a makeover. keep you posted on that one

hi steragram, you are so right. taxi home after chemo £15 -20 as the first chemo session in any cycle is as follows;
taxi if my lift is not available as I have to book in by 08;30 hrs. session ends about 20;00 hrs.
second session of two I could have at my docs and it only lasts 30 mins. they have a chemo clinic.
once a week I had to go in and have the dressing on my picc line changed.
two days before the start of every cycle had to go in for pre- assessment.
how long is a waiting list. they don't have TV's in hospitals for nothing.

hi seaburn,
the prednisolone dose, which is a steroid is usually 100mg. and the tablets 20mg so take 5 or 5mg so you have to take 20.
first chemo regime I was on had 20mg tablets and the last chemo regime I had 5mg tablets.

That's a blow. Fishing around for something positive, I came up with : at least with tablets you won't be needing to visit the hospital as often? I hope?
Wish you all the very best of luck - hang on in there. Don't overdo it on the patio.
