A friend on GoY not mentioning any names PAUL suggested i needed to trim my grass as it is brown.Seeing as i watch a lot of agricultural programs i have seen them set fire to whole fields and i have seen the difference to the plants etc when they grow back.So i thought i would do the same hence the pictures. You can see this grass in its full glory on page 10 of my photos.Since hosing it all down i have now found nice green shoots.Watch this space :))))

My goodness, Mark....what with Hywel severely cutting back Beryl's camellia and you setting fire to your grass....I just don't know about you guys! lol

It's risky to do...but I was relieved when I actually saw your photo....I thought you were speaking of your lawn (grass)...and was wondering if you'd set the whole neighbourhood on fire! lol I was so relieved to find out it was a plant in a pot! Let us know how it goes...

What grass is this? I have several that colour, is it not supposed to be brown, It sure beats cutting it back with scissors lol..

oh wow! at first i thought you had set fire to your lawn!! perhaps that would do our lawn good?
it looks drastic but perhaps it is related to the phoenix?? is it desert plants that spread the seed in this way ~ after a fire???

OMG,Mark..you certainly don't do things by half,do you ?
Did you throw a burger and sausage on,while you were at it ? Lol..

oooo.. that does look a bit drastic,i thought you meant the lawn too..i hope its ok & grows back fine for you.

LOL that's one way of giving up on it :) Looked like a carex grass - they do go a bit scruffy looking - that was amusing lol - hope it grows back for you :)

OMG ! lol :D
I also hope it will grow back .....

Hi all yes it was very drastic action but much quicker than scissors. The pot did not crack surprisingly.I have got three more in my garden but they seem quite healthy as they are in soil at the back of the garden rather than in a pot.I am not sure if it is related to a phoenix stickitoffee.Thankyou all again for your comments lol.:))))

You should have done some burgers at the same time!
A friend of mine used to do this with his pampas grass but set fire to his garden and destroyed his caravan......
The pampas grass was alright though!!
