A glimpse into my weekly trip to Monmouth.

As I was travelling to Monmouth today,I thought I would write this blog.Every week I visit a close friend who is recovering from a fractured pelvis…….usually the trip is so peaceful and the scenery so picturesque.I always glimpse to my right to see the river Wye.This morning is was a “chocolate brown” in colour and moving at an alarming rate. The flotsam was being carried along furiously……..The sheep and swans were sheltering further away from the river’s edge. There were no fishermen to be seen……..The banks of the river were level with the water.Luckily there was no flooding on the road yet.
On arriving at my friend’s house after her weekly “physio”,we both decided to visit a GC which was fairly high up and one which neither of us have ever visited.
Of all the GC’s (and there are many!!)this one was the most diverse. There were many different types of each plant or shrub and ,of course, we had to indulge!!!
The lashing of rain didn’t deter us because the enthusiasm was overwhelming!!I’m sure you all know that one!!
Ended the day with culinary delights of course, and to be met with a peculiar bright object in the sky!!! which lasted all the way home.
Sorry there are no photos, goyers.Far too precarious to capture them by the river.Next time in more clement conditions!!!

Which GC did you visit? I live in Monmouthshire so visited few of them already, lol.
I am driving by river Usk every day - so I know what you mean. It looks scary, really.
