Biodynamic Wine

Okay I admit that when I posted the info yesterday on tasting wine by the moon I was not convinced it really made a different… nor am I yet as I’ll have to see if the same wine tastes any different on different plant days. Given that I wont have an answer until Sunday decided to do a bit more exploring.

Firstly I thought you might like to see the calendar for the 2nd half of April and 1st half of May – just in case you only want to drink on a ‘fruit’ day :-)

April 16 – 30

May 1 – 16

Then I thought you might like some info on producing wine using biodynamic principles: http://wineenabler.com/biodynamic-grapes-and-the-wines-they-make/

sure its not just another 'big brother' attempt to control how much we drink??

No, you just drink four times as much on 'fruit' days, hic!

No Ayjay I don't think so... or, at least the supermarkets don't think so... I can make sense of growing grapes following the moon's cycle so that you harvest on a fruit day. I can even understand working with the fermenting wine on fruit days but... once the wine is in the bottle does the moon really have any influence??? Frankly I doubt it but, as promised in my previous blog I will taste the same wine, from the same bottle over the 4 different 'days' and let you know what I think... Of course it would be even more fun if the rest of you ddi the same thing and we all had a jolly time :-) lol

I suspect it is just another gimmick by the supermarkets but... It has certainly produced a lot of media interest!

Okay, I guess there must be 'something' to this drinking by the moon thing... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1172731/Chateau-Moonshine-How-taste-wine-governed-waxing-waning-moon.html
Obviously my taste buds aren't up to snuff - or I enjoy my wine regardless :-)
