PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

You might remember we are trying to decorate our bedroom so that we can have my old lodger stay before she immigrates to Australia in January. She is moving in with us on the 1st of November…..not long. Unfortunately we have found quite a few problems electrical and damp so what was going to be an easy job has turned into a mammoth operation these pics were taken at 1.00 today and I am off to B&Q to get some more cement and the paint for the walls. The carpet is due to be fitted on Friday and we also take delivery of the furniture then too, self assembly! Would you all like to take bets on whether it will be finished in time!
Needless to say I am not overly confident on achieving this as we are both at work and I am on lates next week too! I think I want to ask the audience and definitely phone a friend. Will let you know how it goes…off to B&Q’s now!

Blimey! What a job...still, if you have a 'deadline' to meet, you will get it done somehow and if it hadn't been for that, you probably wouldn't have got around to it for ages, and then the problems would have been much worse...so....good for you! :)))

Good luck with the work...
Hoping it all goes according to plan :o)

i hope you get it sorted, it never rains but it pours, as they say.
if we all lived nearer we could all come and help!!

I will have a look when you post the completed job. If it looks OK I will invite you up here to do mine. I have a Bathroom to fit...I have had it for years stored in the front bedroom...along with the fitted kitchen that I don't like now anyway. Then I could actually get in and do the bedroom itself.....I have grown to love bare plaster walls.

poor nana she will be worn out!!!
have you seen the cupboards that stroller made pimpernel?
23 Oct, 2011
Yes a lot of work to do Nana D - please do not over panic though - it is what I did when my room was not far off this bad - it is surprising once the main part of the job is done it comes together quicker than you think - the longest part will probably be the cleaning up :))))
Chin up Nana - and do not stress :)))))))))))))))))
Good luck - you'll do it ;)))))

Hi Lulu yes the spare room with the computer and office in is done(which we are sleeping in now) we did that in a panic too when my daughter finished with her fiance and had no where to live we have for the majority lived in that room we are doing now cos my son his wife and Livvy moved in for 6 months, children are like boomerangs they keep coming back! Thanks Paul and Hywel sure we will get there in the end just as long as the skirtings are topcoated and dried for the carpet to go down Friday I shall be happy:) Paul I am having a large glass of wine as I am doing this reply and funnily enough I am not panicking now lol! Thanks Sticki and Pimpernel will post results next weekend hopefully:) Sorry this has nothing to do with gardening just needed to share:(

You`ll do it Nana, having a deadline gives the motivation all you need is a science/technical drawing degree to put the self assembly furniture together.lol. Have fun and don`t get stressed.

You certainly a hard worker Nana, happy that things are getting together. Pity we all did not live close to each other.
I can remember when I first moved here 36 years ago. When friends needed work done we all use to pitch together to get the work done. Even had an electrician and gas fitter help. Use to be great and we were all happy with a cuppa tea or a pint and a sandwich .Use to have some very good mates in those days but unfortunately we all get old.
Best wishes
Tom
