Bob – you asked me to post a picture of Nispera (or Loquats as they are also known) so here they are …. next to my little Nispera tree still in its pot, although I’m negotiating with Partner for a space to plant it into the ground. I don’t think I’m going to win this one ;o(

Hi Nariz ...
I've put this blog on GoYpedia "Crazy Paving" !

Lol... Your paving looks really nice. ..

and the Nisperia tree looks very healthy !

Thanks TT! In a region where "rock is king" it's used for just about everything - casas, paths, walls, BBQs. If you look at my question posted today on identifying a rose you'll see our BBQ in the background - made from rock dug up out of our garden and put together by Partner! Not perfect - but it works!

I guess your partner made these crazy paving paths ..
please tell him well done... they look lovely :o)

... and, sorry... I see the tree is Nispera ...
I put Nisperia... created a new sub-species..Lol...

for the little trees in pots ..Lol..

No TT, Partner didn't do the paths - our talented friendly builders did. Happily the builders are the sons of our only neighbours in this tiny village. They saw the BBQ he built and had strange little smiles on their faces ......

Hi Nariz, the nipera looks like the plantations of friut that we couldn't identify when we were in the hills behind Denia a few years ago. I've never seen them on sale though.

How nice to have such wonderful neighbours ...
... you are very fortunate ...

I'm sure they like your barbecue ;o)

TT, they have their own, very fancy, BBQ. Our's looks like a 'poor relation!'
Driad, I don't think I've ever seen them on sale in Britain, but they are in the supermarkets here for a short time. I know they grow near Denia as my daughter lives in that region and I've seen them when visiting her. Amazing that they get fitted in with all the orange groves and almonds! :o)

Hi Nariz, My Comp is down at the moment thats why i hav'nt been around lately. Thanks very much for the blog post on this delicious Loquat tree and fruit, our two trees are doing a lot better since i started feeding them weekly. We really miss our trips to Spain or the Balearic Islands but Doc says flying is a "no no" at the moment so thats it.

Sorry to hear that Bob - Spain is a great place for recuperation - what about getting the ferry over? That's a little holiday in itself.
I think all I can do with my little Nispera is find it a bigger pot for the time being. Like I said, Partner's not keen on having this one in the ground - don't really blame him as we've got our veggie beds nicely sorted and they won't want to be overshadowed by a tree. :o(
