Birthday Bubbles !

I am so excited. I managed to get my garden at its evolving best for my birthday party.
My passionfruit blossomed for me, I picked up a gorgeous dahlia called ‘Gregory’ and popped him in the ground just in time for people to walk through the gate. Everyone was amazed that I had stuck to my plan and my resolution and got the garden straight…now I have so many plans to get more out my garden.
The sun shining and all the colours bursting open is so rewarding !
I would love to work on my lawn as its full of weeds so I would love to here how you’ve all got your grass greener :)
I had an amazing surprise on Friday night when I got home as my finacee and grown up children build a spa in the garden for me so I can relax after all the gardening madness. I feel massively spoilt and couldn’t be more grateful.
I have realised that whilst I have worked like a mad woman to get ready for my birthday I have completely got the gardening bug. I am head over heels for growing and the beautiful process of watching the changes in my garden.
Thank you all for how much support you have given me.
I couldn’t be happier :)

Aw...well done! And what a lovely surprise for you! Now, if you want to improve your grass, having done that here I might be of help. My grass was nothing but weeds and moss when we moved in. There are three things I did...and they worked. Firstly, get a weeding tool and dig out as many of the weeds as possible, especially the dandelions and docks and plantains. Next, get an electric scarifier...about £40 and rake as much of. The dead thatch and moss so that you can see the earth at the bottom. Do this either in autumn or spring so the grass can recover before it goes dormant. Finally, in spring, give it a dose of 4-in 1 lawn treatment. If you have the energy to spike it with a fork that will also help...but my grass is just too big!
Clearly you have found your inner gardener! I can sense the joy you are getting from it! :)

so glad you had a lovely time. so pleased that the family appreciated all your efforts and you got a spa treat.
the grass would benefit from the weed and feed applications you can buy. My hubby is in charge of that. he cuts the grass regularly and this also helps reduce the weeds. then he scarifies it too to remove all the dead stuff and moss. always looks a mess after that but soon recovers
