Ambresbury Banks, Epping Forest

Went for a walk to Ambresbury Banks today. It’s what remains of an Iron age fort in Epping Forest and was reputed to have been the site where Boudicca was defeated by the Romans at her last battle!! Anyway it is covered in trees now but the steep banks can still be seen and in places they are still challenging! The trees are mainly Beech, Birch and Oak. It is hard to imagine what it was like all those years ago, it is hidden away in the forest and you don’t realise it is there! Anyway see what you think from the photos.

That's interesting. I think historical places like that should be preserved. They are just as important as all the majestic castles etc that people rave about ...
