Olympic Gold-planting to amaze!

I was very lucky to go to the first day of the athletics, in the Olympic Stadium. Wow what an experience, it was brilliant. Before and after we went in we had a walk around the site and the flowers and green areas were very beautiful, and so here are some pics I took.
I had the most amazing day, a once in a lifetime opportunity, everyone was friendly and helpful, the sport was fabulous and the Olympic Park was AMAZING!!!
If you get the chance to visit after the Olympics, just to walk around ,I would recommend it.

OH and I were just discussing going down for a visit to see the planting in the Olympic Park. Thanks for posting the pictures and glad you had such a memorable day. Watching far too much Olympics; partly owing to poor weather and partly to not being allowed to do 'too much' at the moment.

There was a programme on the telly about the planting,I think Terratoonie watched it as well, as we both liked the wild flower area, glad you had a nice day :-))

They said it took 7 years to create this wild flower landscape - with a Professor in charge ! It was a derelict site, I wonder how many tons of top soil they shipped in ?
Thank you for thinking of us Pam, and putting the photos on Goy.

Thanks for looking guys, it was so brilliant. Also there was an article in my paper today about the wildlife they have managed to attract, Goldfinches, wrens etc etc....it will certainly turn into an attraction for years to come and considering it was just a wasteland before it can only be good for the future of this area. I only live up the road in Chingford so it will be really accessible for me to visit too.

I had no idea the olympic site was landscaped in this way - doesn't it look good? I particularly like the "wildflower" meadow. Glad you had a good day - just been watching on the box. Even I'm becoming interested in the sporty bits.
