Aw...thanks all......there is a chunk out of his left underwing, and the "eye" next to it looks like a skull! Enough to scare anyone away.....:o)

Smashing photo - on Fri afternoon I was on the phone & spotted a Peacok Butterfly outside the front window - still on the phone I managed to get the camera out of it's bag & switch it on & hovered by the front door desp. trying to finish the phone call - the second I put the phone down I gingerly opened the door & crept outside only to see the flippin' thing fly off!

Oh, no.....they seem to be quite cheeky......but friendly too...I was surprised yesterday, I managed to get a Peacock on to my finger......errgh...I don't know if I liked it or not!...Lol Couldn't do that with a Moth though...yikes!......

Did it fan its tail out in full when it was on your finger...??

Great photo Janey, check out the front narrow strip on the front of it's wings, it looks like a zebra print...! What a clear shot !

Yes their markings are amazing aren't they......the little Tortoishells are gorgeous with turquoise edged to their wings....:o) and your Monarchs with the black and white dots....amazing!
