Bougainvillea are a personal favourite of mine. This shot, was taken during August 2007. I've uploaded it (April 04) to 'celebrate' the return of the colourful bracts for 2008. But which are really tiny just now after their enforced rest during the colder months.

I have one of these in a small pot but have no idea what conditions they thrive in- any advice would be appreciated.

They're a mediterranean plant Popeymike,so need the sun and warmth. Years ago I had one in my south facing porch and it did quite well, but only as a pot plant. The one in Spain I trained the side shoots horizontally and it flowered like mad, a bit of feed in Spring and away it went, but of course they were long sunny days.

They like acidic soil and basking. But so long as you keep them from freezing for any extended period a healthy plant should come through under cover OK and your heating bill will not be in the stratosphere!

Thank you for that- I'll re-pot it and move it to the conservatory.

Lovely Muddywellies, I had this growing up my house in Spain. Is this in one of your greenhouses?
