WOW! Those look beautiful. In the spring I had quite a few on mine, now there are only 4 on the newly planted tree, they are looking very promising though.

18 Aug, 2009
They are lovely and juicy Sandra , we had visitors this morning , it was so nice to be able to go and pick 4 and then sit in the garden eating them .. they are so sweet and ripe not like the half ripe hard ones you get in the supermarket ... yummy .. I hope I have a crop like this every year :o)
18 Aug, 2009
I picked one of mine and ate it on the bench in the sunshine today :-)
Just booootiful. John describes the taste as - they've not been in a fridge - if you know what I mean. So juicy too.
Amy: Has this year been a good one then?
18 Aug, 2009
It has for our peaches Dawn .. you can,t quite describe the taste until youve tried one can you , so sweet , juicy and .. well . peachy ..LOL...
18 Aug, 2009
ok you two,, making my mouth drool lol
18 Aug, 2009
Exactly Amy and the skins arent tough either - just perfect.
18 Aug, 2009
Dawn I found that if you get hold of the tip of the skin it peels right of easily leaving the peach skinless and smooth ..
Sorry Sandra ... LOL...
18 Aug, 2009
lol amy,, im covering my ears he he
18 Aug, 2009
LOL. :o)
18 Aug, 2009
Ha ha, sorry Sandra - we'd send you one, wouldnt we Amy, if it was practical, may get a bit bruised on the way.
I've just asked John where our peach tree came from and low and behold he said either Lidl or Aldi!
18 Aug, 2009
really dawn, and bet it was a bargain to, well done to you and you to amy, enjoy, i will be wanting one of them next hehehe,, poor baz
18 Aug, 2009
It would have been Sandra. I'm sure you can persuade Baz to squeeze on in, lol.
They dont take up too much room, do they Amy. John will prune ours down to about 6 feet this autumn, like Amy's :-)
18 Aug, 2009
my list is getting longer and longer lol
18 Aug, 2009
I know Sandra, Amy's Kent Cob Nut Tree is on my list now, ha ha.
18 Aug, 2009
lol, think we will all need more land soon :o)
18 Aug, 2009
Wow Dawn , I bet your tree was a lot cheaper than mine from them and just as good ..
Yes I will send you one Sandra , close your eyes , i,m handing it to you now , hold it , smell it ,Mmm , open wide take a nice big bite , let the juice run down your chin , have a napkin ready for the dribbles , there.! was that delicious ... LOL..
Oh gosh Dawn , I worry when you do something that we do 'cos i,m not an expert .... my brother always kept his tree a certain height and it worked for him , I am copying him ..
I have a friend who has a peach tree in there garden , they have let it grow big and tall straggly and the fruit is very small and not much good....
18 Aug, 2009
lol amy,, i was tired and went to bed so saved my peach till this morning, it was lovely thankyou :o)) very juicy heehe
19 Aug, 2009
Your welcome Sandra ... I didn,t want to get up this morning , i,m on a go slow at the moment LOL...
19 Aug, 2009
i was the same amy, got up to meet my son and he was still in bed, so arranged to meet him after lunch and he let me down again, my last day off and wasted, :o(
19 Aug, 2009
Ah what a shame Sandra ... it has been unbelievable hot here today it was 85 outside the backdoor in the shade when I came in and it,s 5.pm ..
I wonder if it will last a few more days !
19 Aug, 2009
well forcast not good here amy :o( but saying that its been lovely here to and was supose to rain, ive done some weeding and taken a few busy lizzies out that had gone really,is it sept we plant spring bulbs amy?
19 Aug, 2009
You have been busy , making the most of the nice weather
Daffodils go in Aug / Oct Sandy Tulips not until November , if that any help :o)
Lets hope it,s nice again tomorrow ........
19 Aug, 2009
thanx amy will jot that down :o)
19 Aug, 2009
Amy, I value your knowledge and experience, you've been brilliant. I wouldnt have known the peaches needed to be thinned out either.
19 Aug, 2009
Thanks Dawn ! I was very naughty and didn,t thin mine enough I was greedy and wanted as many as I could get .. I mustn,t do that next year ...LOL... I would like to get an expert to show me exactly how to prune a Peach tree after it has fruited , i,m never very sure from looking at a book .. you have to cut out the fruited branch and then tie in the replacement , when you have branches all over the place and most of them have had fruit on it,s difficult to know for sure if you are doing it right ....
Some of mine have started falling off as they are ripe , I was hoping they would stay on until the weekend , I suppose some of them will hopefully :o)
19 Aug, 2009
I hope they stay on too Amy, the children will be expecting them to be loaded.
The pruning process does sound very complicated, I'll have to tell John what you've explained. The wasps have decided to feed on one of ours but we thought we'd leave it for them so they dont start on any more.
19 Aug, 2009
Good idea Dawn , I,ve been trying to work out how you can remember which branches have had the fruit on when the fruit has gone .. I think I will go out before the fruits gone and put one of those little plastic ties round each branch ... then when it,s gone the tie will still be there !
19 Aug, 2009
Fantastic plan Amy - we'll have to compare notes when the time comes :-)
19 Aug, 2009
a wondreful harvest of Peaches Amy, they look delicious, wish I had room for a fruit tree but space is stretched already, so I will justbe content to share yours!
20 Aug, 2009
