Aye Flower looked like a giant hover fly but those legs seemed so long ..confused as thought insects had six legs this seemed to have 8 ..

its def an insect and does like like a hoverfly, there arent any 8 legged arachnids that fly.

Perhaps just the way i was looking at it then SBG .. this seemed much larger than the hover flies we usually get and those legs much longer do hover flies vary in size ?
Shame though thought I had found a flying spider lol

yes there are different species of hover flies. flying spiders now there's a scary thought.
