Definitely signs of autumn, Clarice. I have a number of tall trees by the duck pond behind my bungalow and they are beginning to shed leaves in the winds we are having at present. I want to jump up and down and shout STOP, we need a longer summer :)

I agree with Gee..... I have almost a feeling of panic at this time of year over all the summer tasks which haven't been achieved !

A never ending task, love Autumn for the beautiful colours but sad when they all fall and you know winters around the corner.

I'll do that BB:o))). what i dont like about about seeing this, is them dark nights are drawing in very quick, mind you it was cold this morning first thing, but it been a really nice day, plenty of warm sunshine, what more could a lancashire lass ask for BB:o))

Oh let me think ..what do Lancashire lasses like ? Mmm Well my only real experience Coronation St so must a good row in the street ..a drink every time you have a break from work ..psychotic children ..baps ... pigeons ...Clarice you seen any of Greenthumbs blogs in Alaska ?

And we re worried about nights drawing in lol

Its been nice and sunny here for the past few days, but I can see the signs on the sycamore that over hangs my garden from the grave yard, you say you hate raking leaves Sandra, wait till I show you what I get, not only in my garden out back the front too and they all come in through the back door and front door, so I have leaves filling my kitchen and passage and living room.

The big ole Oak tree next door has been shedding for 2 weeks now and my Rowan is starting as well. It's hard to believe that this month sees the 12th month since we moved here...a whole year!!

Anyway, one of my first 'buys' was a leaf hoover and my next blog, hopefully on at weekend, will show my attempt at a pond net to stop the leaves getting in!!

Ah well, only a few more months and it'll be Easter....WOO-HOO!! Which means Cadbury's Creme Eggs will be advertised on TV on Boxing Day!

OB when the old clock goes back an hour in october, i'll be wishing for xmas to come, because towards the end of january you can see light nights creeping back, as for cream eggs i love them..... BB your right i know we moan about dark nights, but i really dont like them, dont get that SAD sindrome, but i cant wait for them to go. well yorkshire wear flat caps dont they, and like last of the summer wine.

I find it helps Clarice when read Berniehs blogs saying not had rain for nine months ..the fires Gilli in Canada had to contend with recently ..the levels of snow they have to deal with makes me appreciate our less extreme weather.

That said we wouldnt be Brits without a good weather whinge lol

As for Yorkshire yes flat caps whippets sheep moors wind we probably a bit more like Heartbeat here only a few miles from us ..and yes probably still living in the Sixties.lol

A leaf hoover OB? How polite of you ..I have a leaf blower and give them to the neighbours ..well he has a big compost area at end of his garden so whoosh over the fence lol

Have to admit your right, we dont get weather like other countries, so we are better than alot of them on goy, as for heartbeat country been all round there, and got ornament of Hadensfield Arms, infact i have to say it was lovely up there, as for the sixties, thems my years, always playing sixties music Elvis mostly.

Oh so was you Clarice ..Ventriss still lives locally I ll let him know .lol

Not sure if you walked down behind the pub to beck hole waterfall Clarice ..quite a trek but well worth it .

Elvis yes as a young man he had to be the best looking fella ..I loved In the Ghetto and Suspicious Minds .

No did'nt go behind the pub, but at the garage there was a little mini, they use in the series only went to take a closer look and a fellow told me off, but i did enjoy looking round the village, is it right that when they where filming there they use to move all the sheep that was wondering round the village, and bring their own sheep in, loved all Elvis records, at the moment i keep playing his gospel songs. Got an old LP with loads of them on it.

Oh Clarice you only went for a look and got told off ? Welcome to Yorkshire ..wonder if I ll turn into a grumpy old Tyke ?

OK can guess where this going lol ..

That could well be true Clarice as the moor sheep are pretty scruffy individuals and not the best with personal hygiene must say the ones on TV do look more well groomed.

I ll post a pic of the waterfall for you.

12 Sep, 2009

Thanks look forward to that, think he shouted because he said there was that many tourist came looking round they could not let the mini get damaged, dont know what harm i could have done to it though. Well all the sheep that was roaming round looked quite well looked after, and they was'nt filming that day.
