Clematis cutting

Thats good Amy...........will be all ready 4 next year.........

What method did you use, please, Amy, to start these clematis cuttings ?

I took stem cuttings TT , cut the stem between two joints , Two of those are off those last two new Clematis that I bought , the Wisley cream and the Freckles .....
I,m having better luck this way than in the water , two of them were in water but are not so far forward ....
Yours did well in water didn't they Sandra , perhaps it's all down to the variety and when you take the cutting .........

no my clematis didnt take in water amy,, was my fuchsia in water that did well :o)

They have done well Amy, I also tried in water but not as successful as those put into compost

I will have to try this, am I too late to do it now?

I think there's still time Gee , I would risk it, in fact I have put some more in this week , you've got nothing to lose , and everything to gain .........

I'm glad it's not just me Carole with the water method , I like to get them in soil , you can see something happening then ....... :o)

Well done. I find that The smaller clematis seem to be easier taking to rooting that the larger varieties. Does anyone else find this?

LIndak , mine is very much trial and error , some years i'm lucky and some i'm not , It's been good this year ........ i'm happy if I get any to take . :o)
