How lovely for Snowball to have some friends - hope they stay around. Will you need to build a bigger home for them?

Thanks everyone , Yes Arlene he did stay with us through last winter , he must be very happy with his accommodation to recommend it to his friends ......... I have a strange feeling that he picks up all the waifs and strays and brings them home for supper ... he has another racing pigeon staying at the moment as well , that has been here for a couple of weeks , not the same one as before , It seems as though they rest up and then carry on their journey ........

If they all stay they will need a shed to themselves , never mind his little house .... LOL.....

I wonder if they will all turn up for breakfast in the morning !!

The Pheasant ( Charlie's son ) has started to come for breakfast again , he disappears in the summer only to return in the winter .... we haven't seen Charlie for some time , we think something might have happened to him :o(

I'm so pleased you were able to identify Snowball TT , ... LOL....

I know which one he is now ....!!

We have a pheasant too we call him Phil, we know him because he has a very bad limp, he's started coming for breakfast again just this week, taps on the window, got his own harem now though, three females. who he's been teaching his bad habits ,lol.
Sorry lovely picture :-)

Isn't that strange Simbad , that they should come in for the winter at the same time ... Last winter Charlie and his son had a couple of females that use to accompany them ,,it was lovely to watch 'cos the gentlemen would stand back and wait for the ladies to have their fill before they tucked in ... there's no sign of them yet , ... or Charlie ..

Yes Arlene , they actually eat so much that if they start arriving in flocks it will be difficult to feed them all ..... :o)

Thanks Motinot and Eileen ........ We have a Sparrow hawk at times Arlene , they are horrible , I hate it when you go out and see piles of feathers everywhere .......

~I have quite mixed feelings too Amy~ they are beautiful birds having a hard time but don't want my garden to become a larder~ I have chased it away on occasion when it landed on the roof of my bird table and sat there looking at us through the window~ all my Goldfinches etc scattered!

A lot of the regular birds become quite tame don't they Arlene and probably think they are safe in our gardens , I supose thats nature , we have to accept it however cruel we think it is ...

BTW .. theres a letter in our paper today asking you not to buy fur lining in clothing from china , as they skin the animals alive , they have given a www. no. where you can actually watch them doing it ... I couldn't bring myself to watch something like that .....:o(

~ I don't buy anything from China anyway if I can possibly help it as their manufacturing conditions are dreadful and they cut corners and use lead in toys and remember that milk scandal? That would not surprise me at all Amy as life is cheap and those in charge don't give tuppence for the environment or their people!
