Thanks Janey, frost certainly makes a change from all this rain!
Terra, it's Heuchera 'Plum Pudding', a lovely purple colour. I've had it quite a few years now but seems happiest in a pot.

Heucheras are among my faves - so many with delicious names. And now, one with a dusting of "icing sugar"! :-))

Thanks Vicky. I can't seem to find a spot in the garden where this plant is happy so it always ends up back in a pot! Is the best place for them and do you keep yours protected in the winter? The frost doesn't kill it but maybe it doesn't do it much good?

Hi Lily2
Sorry I didnt answer very quickly we have been getting ready for our open days
The first one was today
Just tomorrow to go and then it is back end before we have another.
We keep some outside and some inside no heat at all on the ones inside and open sides to the tunnel ...its the national collection we keep inside, most of the larger sales plants stay outside.
They are very hardy.
They come form North America so they can stand our worst winters really well.
They dont like to stand in a wet place what type of soild do you have?

Thanks Vicky, I hope the Open Days went well with not too much rain.to dampen things. Our soil is on the sandy side of medium loam and can get very dry so is a very sunny spot best avoided? I live in Berkshire so we get a fair amount of sunshine which can be quite hot sometimes (hard to imagine at the moment! LOL)

Probably better in the shade as sandy soil can dry out too much as you say
You can plant in containers and baskets if the open ground is a problem
The open day went really well thanks Lily
We did much better than we hoped
I sold nearly all the cake I made too which was a real relief as I wouldnt want to be left with that much cake lol
I am surposed to be being careful....Cake is the kiss of death for my figure lol
We had a lovely weekend only one small shower and even had a little sunshine :)
Very cold though when sun went in.
