Mmmmm.... I love the whole process of making my own bread. And it fills the house with that wonderful aroma. These look lovely, Gee19.

It's the best way Dawn , nice and thick :-)

We had a bakers in the village when I was young , it was the best thing ever when you were sent to get a loaf and he was just getting them out of his big old oven on a long shovel .. I shall never forget that delicious smell ...
It was turned into an ordinary house years ago but I can still smell the bread when I go past .........

No bread maker, Dawn, just a lot of kneading! Unfortunately no toasting fork or open fire either :(

Wow...clever you Gee! Yum yum...warm with best butter!!...:o)

11 Dec, 2009

I think you're better than any break making machine Gee :-) Do you use fresh yeast.

12 Dec, 2009

I used powdered yeast, Dawn, and it seemed to work OK.

Yum...not made bread for years...used to use my Kenwood Chef mixer with a dough hook to make mine.

OMYGOSH! I just wandered past your bread picture and I actually drooled. My favorite food in the world! Used to bake bread all the time when the kids were little, gave it up when I got a job outside the home. Miss it! I kneaded mine too...therapeutic.
