Hi Sandra,
These (hederifolium) are about the hardiest of the lot and can withstand most of the British climate. They flower late July-Oct. and the leaves, which are beautifully marked, conitinue until the following May. The corms just get bigger and bigger, producing more flowers each time. Value for money there alright !

Cyclamen can be grown from seed, if you don't mind waiting a few years for flowers! (Indoor C. persicum develop sooner) but a better way is to buy them as corms (tubers), preferably still in growth, as dried corms sometimes stay dormant for a year.
Good luck with them anyway if you decide to try them. x

They are beautiful and I love the planting in amongst the rocks!

Hi Berneih,
Yes, they seem to be in their element between the rocks. C. hed. grows proffusely in Greece, along the roadsides, & up into the mountains. Also in the site of the ancient Olympia, amongst the remains of the pillars. Quite a sight !

just caught up jb,,, dont think i will do from seed, the quickest way for me, i like instant lol

Yes Sb, most gardeners buy the corms, for quicker results but it is fun to grow your own from seed when the original plant produces them. They will soon spread themselves around anyway.
