Itea virginica 'Little Henry'

Itea virginica 'Little Henry' (Itea virginica)

I had to go and check that this shrub really is deciduous, as it has not yet lost any leaves. Apparently, it hangs on to its leaves for almost the whole of winter. The foliage colour is wonderful.

Barbara, I have the Itea 'Henry's Garnet' which still has its leaves, but my 'Little Henry' is now completely bare after all the hard frosts.

That's interesting. I've 'googled' I. virginica to take a look at the flowers, and they look wonderful! An interesting species altogether, and I'm glad I stumbled on it. Our heaviest frost so far last night, so we'll see what that does to its leaves.
