Pretty garden! Welcome to GoY!

thanks Louise, it wasn't actually, this bronze leaved flowering cherry was in another part of the garden, much more shaded, and we moved it last year when the greenhouse was put in. It sulked rather so I'm hoping it will come back with a vengeance this spring!

What great work you've done ... it's looking lovely. Welcome to GOY from me too! Love your scattered free-form garden beds.

Wow, you have been busy - it looks great. A very warm welcome to GOY. I've only been here since November 09, but I don't think I've missed a day since then. Enjoy ! :-)

Karen, your garden looks pretty well stocked already....where would you plant some conifers and heathers....a new island bed perhaps...?...:0)

Yes! I might have to do that! I have always loved Blue Spruce in particular but have never had one because I just couldn't bring myself to pay all that money for such a small tree and wait all those years for it to grow!

Thats a smashing transformation, a garden to wander in, I love gardens that encourage one to go further and explore........

Thanks Skillen! I think it is small already...I'm dreaming of a cottage by the sea and half an acre! One can dream.....

Aye me too - hee hee, I wish! You're garden looks about the width of about 3 of the houses at the back.

Yes, that's right, it is wide but short. Unfortunately it gives the feeling of being 'on stage' with all six of our neighbours in the front stalls! That's why I have so many trees.

Thanks Daylily! I have great hopes for it this year. It is really beginning to mature now and there's not so much black soil on show!

I can see you've put alot of time and effort in your garden. It is lovely and looking very mature for the short time you've had it

Thanks J. It has changed a great deal since this was taken, partly because I wanted to add different features, and partly because we have some serious drainage problems that have necessitated changing the position of some of the borders. Right now, the lawn is full of bare patches and there is now an arched walkway to the greenhouse, which should look a lot better by this autumn when the climbers have clothed it a bit more. Sometimes I wish I hadn't put it in, but if it doesn't start to look better soon I can always take it out again. that's the beauty of a garden isn't it? It is always developing!

Wow !
That's a great transformation :-)))
I've been in my garden about 3 years too, it's amazing what can be achieved in a short space of time, isn't it ?
:-)))
Is this bronze leaved tree, here in the bottom right of the picture, one of the first trees you put in ?
