Thanks all ... we do have some very interesting natives and this is another of them.
Milky ... they are about 10 cms across, so not very big.

Helen ... yes this is the flower in my avatar. I chose it because my area of north Queensland has the largest concentration of these native trees in the the whole of northern Oz. They're thriving in the bushland around my city and I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by them.
