My bay tree is out the front in a pot. It's survived the cold spell undaunted and is covered in flower buds, but it's usually March before they flower here. Lovely flowers though aren't they and i love growing all my own herbs. My favourite is borage - can't beat it in a glass of pimms and the bees love the flowers too!

Hi Karen.....my Bay tree was a chrissy pres so I've kept it by the kitchen door as I didn't want the very low temps to get it,,,I was so surprised to see it in flower...:o) Like you I love herbs...we used to have borage growing wild all over the terraces in Spain...a beautiful herb, but very prickly...Lol! I love golden oregano which seems to seed itself in all the cracks in the pavement...:o)

Yes Janey, but gosh you get the proper aromas abroad! I remember being stopped dead in my tracks by the smell of some wild oregano growing around the toliet block of a campsite at Lake Garda in Italy! Here you have to touch them to get any perfume I find, it never gets warm enough for them to start perfuming the air!
