Had this last year, repotted it this time with new compost, but it as a side shoot growing aswell, thinking of taking that one off,so all the energy goes into main shoot, or would you leave it, i think its another bulb come at the side of the main one.

Clarice, I'm not a big helper too (bulb-experts know the right answer), but what I do when having some baby bulbs on my old Hippeastrum plants - the first year they appear, I leave them with the mother bulb for increasing, and only the second year separate them from the main bulb. By that time young plants have their own roots for good developing.

I would wait until the plant has died down in late summer, then carefully take the "babies" off....Hippeastrums don't like root disturbance...

I leave mine in the shade outside in summer then when the leaves have died off i just put it in shed then about end of December i repotted it and fetched it inside then it says to start watering and feeding once a week in January, just feed this one with baby bio, indoor plant food dont see any point of doing tomatoe food up for just one plant, while i feed my other few indoor plants i do it at same time.

Could you divide the two bulbs? Or is it too late to try that? Not much help, am I?
I'm sure there are Amaryllis experts on GoY who will advise you :)
