black cap and sparrow

Nice to see these in the garden, Eileen :o)

I've never seen a black cap, what a lovely bird:-) and I seem to have lost my house sparrows now as well. The tree sparrows disappeared about eight years ago here, I used to love their little brown caps:-(

I do get plenty of house sparrows in my garden, and myself i think there lovely little birds :o))

Arent they lovely.

I had never seen a Black Cap until last weekend when a pair arrived in the garden the female has a red cap they seem to making themselves at home in the Ivy on the garden fence. Lovely birds.

i wonder why the female isnt called a red cap lol
