Well I couldn't wait any longer so last sunday got my trusty super 7 propogater out,( had this for 8 years now and use it many times every year), and sowed a few seeds, today 5 out of the 7 have germinated and another is just showing signs of germination, from the left leonotis staircase, salvia patens (just showing signs), 2 trays of dahlia bishops children, sclarea piemont, blessed mary thistle and mixed campanula seeds(not germinated yet), never fail to get excited when seeds germinate, even ones I've sown many times before, husband thinks I'm slightly mad.
Now where am I going to plant them all mmm.......

Thanks everyone :-) should have lots to swap.
Yes homebird don't see the leonotis very often grew it 3 or 4 years ago and collected some seed just found it in my seed box, thought I'd see if it would still grow and it did, don't know what it'll be like as think it can revert to wild form, leonotis leonurus, but thats pretty much the same as staircase any way, books say its half hardy but didn't survive winter here, lovely plant some grew over 7ft tall, the blessed mary thistle were a new one to me too, loved the patterned leaves, seed kindly sent to me by a GOY member :-)

I got this propagator for Xmas Dotty, after Simbad's recommendation. Its brilliant, just gives a gentle heat to the feet and sits nicely on the windowsill and doesnt look unsightly.

Glad you're pleased with it Dawn it is really good DD, on to pricking out my second lot of seeds already, lol, and its only end of Feb I'll be over run with plants this year, making myself write 100 lines, I must not prick out every seedling, lol.

I'll be pricking out tomorrow too Kathy :-) I need to get some hardier plants out of the greenhouse and somehow protect them with bubble wrap in a sheltered spot as the coldframes are full too. I'm like you Kathy, I just cant help sowing seeds, its your influence, lol and yes the propagator is excellent. BTW would you like some purple loosestrife seeds?

I am looking online now for one.........thanks Dawn.

I'm running out of space too Dawn have a stand that hold 15 seed trays, moved it into the sunroom were its a bit warmer but thats full and just pricked out my delphiniums('Astolot' a pink one can't wait till they flower) they'll just have to go on the floor in sunroom till weather warms up enough for them to go in greenhouse, would probably be ok in greenhouse but only tiny yet, can become addictive Dawn, lol.
Thanks for the kind offer of purple loosestrife seeds would love some please:-), used to have it in my old garden, but thats one plant I forgot to bring a piece of with me, I think after one van load of plants Rob was fed up, didn't leave the garden empty though, just took lots of divisions, lol.
Hope you managed to find one DD :-)

DD, I'll drop you a pm with details of mine was from :-)
Oh Kathy, I've been pricking out for hours today, lol. Where are they all going to go, some have had to go back into the greenhouse now its a bit milder. Did you buy your stand Kathy, sounds good!
I agree, its so addictive. I'll send you some purple loosestrife seeds , I collected my own seed and bought some too so I have lots and of course they've all come up. Such tiny seedlings and so many of them. I got quite frustrated and decided to do some more another day. Lots of your seeds are coming up for me and I've set some of your Hollyhocks, Innula and geranium today ...... so exciting.
I'll be in touch Kathy. Dawn x

Thanks Dawn :-) look forward to those, glad the seeds are doing well, you'll be digging up more grass to fit them all in,lol, I've been clearing an area in the wood today to plant some more plants, Rob scraped the surface for me a few days ago but taking forever to dig over because of all the bramble roots nice large space though, and great soil, room for a seat too, got loads of plants to divide from other parts of the garden dicentra, solomans seal, ferns, hostas, fringecups, violas, bluebells, hellebores, some blue poppy babies Amy sent me will be going in later too, hope I've got room for a few newbies too.
Bought the stand when I bought the propogator can't for the life of me remember were from, KAYs horticultural supplies rings a bell but can't remember for sure, has three tiers each one holding five seed trays(they came with it) will take a picture another day, fits nicely in the greenhouse.

Hi Kathy, I'll get those seeds off to you this week.
I have plans for a new bed soon :-) That's the problem where are all these new plants going to go? Your new area in the wood sounds perfect and the bench and the plants you've planned all sound good.
I look forward to your pic of your seed stand - sounds good, just what I need.
Good luck with the bramble roots, I know its kind of swearing but a drop of Roundup might help ;-)
