I found this little fellow clinging to the underside of a small piece of steel which I picked up at work. I didn't want to squash him by replacing the steel so i've put him in the shed where he will get some protection.

You are so kind Toto, he is a lovely coloured one hope he survives!

Thank you Sandra, Gee and Pansy. I hate to hurt anything, what is to be gained? All things have a right to life. I hope he survives too. These are not uncommon.

He can have a bit more sleep now, lol.
15 Feb, 2010
We had a 1 spot one land on our table when we were having a coffee whilst out today. Seems early to be out?
15 Feb, 2010
He's lovely! It all happens in your shed Toto.
15 Feb, 2010
Hopefully he will be warmer in the shed anyway Wagger.
A one spot Potty. I didn't know that there was a one spot.
He's not in my shed Dawn, he is in the shed at work or at least that's where I put him.

Tha secrets of my shed are revealed only to a very few.
Thanks Amy he is very nice looking even if I'm not, a fact on which we will both agree.
It should be warmer in the shed than where he was Cat.

I've not seen one that colour before either, glad you put it somewhere so it can keep warm.

Toto ~ he just had 1 spot on each wing.....er, does that make him a 2 spot? LOL....silly me!
16 Feb, 2010
wonderful Toto....well observed

Hi Clarice, as I said they are very common but not necessarily in gardens as they tend to like long grass.
Yes potty, a two spot.
Thanks Deida.

Funny how they hide under such things you saved it well done, see your a savour, not a coward after all. Aha so you have two sheds hey! one at work and one at home, makes the mind boggle what you entice into this one.
17 Feb, 2010
I demand a re-count !!! :-))
17 Feb, 2010
I'm not sure what you want a recount on Muddy but Sixpence is wrong. I have two sheds at home and one at work.
17 Feb, 2010
Typical of a man ha ha I bet you have a shed at every port too lol. I think Muddy wants a recount on the spots lol
17 Feb, 2010
His name's not Bush you know!
18 Feb, 2010
You sure its not Brush as in Bazil Brush. lol
18 Feb, 2010
Glad you were able to give him sanctuary Toto...we try to do the same......

Potty found a one spot
that really should be two
one spot on each red wing
makes the total two.
Toto found a spotted
ladybird yellow
saved it from the winter
what a caring fellow.
I haven't seen a ladybird that looks like this before Toto.
27 Feb, 2010
As I said above. They are quite common.
27 Feb, 2010
Not here, they're not! LOL
27 Feb, 2010
That's because you keep them out with your electric fence.
27 Feb, 2010
Perhaps they are found in certain areas Toto. We only ever got the two spot (Red) and the large red ladybird, the black ladybird with red spots and the Harlequin and a two spot yellow one.
27 Feb, 2010
You could be right Lindak, I'll have to try and find out.

When we moved half a mile away up this hill we had a different sort of spider that we hadn't seen down the road. They had invaded the bungalow and they had a very small roundish body and very long angular legs. The bungalow was empty for six month before we invaded it!

I suppose it's the old story, different situations and conditions suit different animals. As soon as an animal feels at home and has the right conditions it settles in and starts a new population.
28 Feb, 2010
Lets hope its friendly...and not a predator!!!
17 Mar, 2010
