I wonder if Delonix would know ?
He knows quite a bit about plants in the tropics.

Louse1:
I'm almost positive this shrub is Euphorbia leucocephala 'snowflake'. They grow here in San Diego, CA. They are spectacularly white like this when in bloom.
Wyeboy:
Did the flowers have a sweet fragrance on this shrub? Euphorbia leucocephala 'snowflake' flowers are usually very sweetly fragrant.

Yes Delonix is right... I have this growing in my garden. It's Euphorbia leucocephala or what we call the 'Snowflake bush'.

Bernieh:
Thanks for confirming it! This is quite a specimen...I don't think I've seen one with such a wide spread before. It looks like Euphorbia 'Diamond Frost' on steroids...which I have in my garden. LOL! : > )

Are you sure it's a Euphorbia, I have my doubts on that, but would love to find the name.

Thanks for the info Bernieh & Delonix I wish we could grow it here!!!

If we get the snow that has been forecast again,we will all have one !!!
"snowflake bush" and "Diamond frost" will be very appropriate. It will save us the airfare to Trinidad,Wyeboy..:o)))..but we would prefer to see it where its warm..Lol

Wyeboy:
You're welcome! : > )
The Euphorbiaceae (Spurge) family is huge. It comprises many tropical vines (Dalechampia, Euphorbia fulgens), shrubs (Euphorbia pulcherrima - Poinsettia, Euphorbia griffithii) and many succulents (Euphorbia ingens - Candelabra tree, Euphorbia millii - Crown-of-thorns). We grow hundreds of Euphorbia species, varieties here in San Diego, CA in the landscape.

I didn't know there were so many varieties,Delonix,I only know a few, which,I suppose are only the ones available here.Interesting to see what grows elsewhere though...Thanks

Bloomer:
You can do a search in GoY on "Euphorbia" and many of my photos will come up.
Euphrobia species are so widely grown in San Diego, CA...because most are so drought tolerant.
