Helleborus lividus

Helleborus lividus (Helleborus lividus)

I haven't planted this yet - just as well, as the advice is that it needs a sheltered and sunny position!

This is unusual Barbara............the disc shape with those tail pieces at the back, could almost be an Aquilegia!

Maybe it's the camera angle. I'm about to post a second photo, Janey.

It's from the Balearics, isn't it Spritz?

Yes - book says 'Majorca'!!! I can't give it those kind of temps, though. :-(

Our forecast here is for cold rain...all week...and it's almost March! My 'February Gold' Narcissi are several weeks behind. They might even be 'April Gold'!! Last year they were 'March Gold'. :-((

If you can grow winter flowering clems, I think you'll be ok with this, in a sheltered site. It's lovely. Aqueligia....mmm....aren't they also part of the ranunculacea genus? Lovely pinky tinge to the flower and the cetre of the flower is stunning!

I've planted it, in a bed facing west - with my fingers crossed. I wouldn't mind another one to keep it company - well, in for a penny etc. lol.
