I'm worried as there is a huge pile of feathers in the garden .. it looks as though a Sparrow Hawk has killed a Dove , I'm frightened for this pair and Fudge :o(

ps i dont think black birds infact any small wild birds servive for to many winters im afraid especialy with what mite as well be a target painted on it.at least you captured the moment.my friend one day was just telling me about 2 albino raindeer and with that i said there they are but there were 4 of them.

Tony might be all of them wrapped in one bundle Leigh ..lol... , No sign of the dodgy couple yet ! i'm keeping a good look out ;o) I'll let you know if the Black and white bird survives and comes back , your'e right about them not living to long and we don't know how old it was ... are they were roe deer .rain deer are actualy caraboo excuse the spelling and they live with the eskimos .quite smalll to what youd imagine.still none the less an amazing site and seeing 4 together.there are no higher predetors anymore so there white colour will save them as there quite huge.i guess they feal safe together and other deer reject them as they are different so i understand lol.take care amy and tony you take care ,spring soon yippee xxx

Hi Amy this is a lovely photograph. The white dove always reminds me of peace. Perhaps the dead bird you found was killed by a pereguin falcon. They take the bigger birds.

I have seen the Sparrow Hawks here Lindak but not a pereguin falcon i'm not sure if there are any around here ... I am watching Snowball from my window he is sitting on the water fountain having a shower , he is putting his wings up and down and making a real good job of it ...LOL..

We had a sparrowhawk in the garden a couple of days ago. They are very fast movers......
