Although I love my new birdbath Im as little disappointed as I havent yet seen any one trying it out, a couple have perched on it but none have taken the plunge, perhaps I have shy birds who only bathe in privacey lol

Lol Toto :)
Do you think it could be a little close to the shrubs PP ? I'm sure they'll love it when they get used to it being there.

Aster you could be right, but will wait a little longer and can always trim the shrubs back a little;0)

Think they will just need a few days to get used to it Pp....its a beauty...

You could always erect a privacy screen for them, PP! Or perhaps a small stone in the middle might help as birds often seem to like standing on something other than the edge (but I don't know why!)

You maybe need a shower curtain like Milky had Carole...Lol! Probably a towel rail would help too....:o)))

I've noticed sparrows drinking from the barrel pond, they won't be doing that after I've baled out some water lol. We've had so much rain the level is almost to the top,I don't want the fish leaping out !
Did you see my pic of a wood pigeon having a rain shower ?

I'm sure they will come to it soon Carole it is new to them ... it's a lovely bath !

Thanks Amy I hope so, it took a few days before they ventured on the birdtable, so will just have to be patient!
Will have a peep at your pics Aster, very fond of Wood pigeons, game for anything are'nt they!

Perhaps you have clean birds Carole as they bath in winter to keep their feathers clean, in order to fly. I have one which they drink from, so I don't mind if they are shy, or crafty and take one when we are not looking lol.

Perhaps they can sense the Pussy cat lurking around the Shrubbery.
Try moving it away from the shrubs,in the open
as long as it is put close to trees, they should be safe from Predators!
It looks a nice solid Bird Bath, i am sure they will love it, once they get
used to it. I agree with Sixpence they may have a crafty one when you are not looking.

I've put various feeders out and they seem to ignore them for ages. I think they take their time before they adopt something new....and it does look very lovely, I remember you buying it:-)
