is this a wallflower...

Love these wallflowers they flower non stop, I did lose my purple ones but have just bought Orange Bronze and Yellow Gold to replace them.

Yes, Holly - but a perennial one. As Pp says, they don't last long - I've just replaced my apricot ones, after 2 years, and the yellow ones after 4 years - but they looked dreadful, they had to go.
Pp - one of my 'Bowles' Mauve' gave up the ghost, and the variegated ones were very poorly, too - so I replaced them, but two of the 'B's M' came through really well!.

Yes Barbara the ones I lost were Bowles Mauve, and also a varigated one Stars and Stripes, was upset as they were one of my favourites(

I think my 'Stars and Stripes' is OK...it was the E. linifolium that had to come out. :-((

You probably already know this Barbara but for anyone that is interested here's a little information .
Today I opened my Plantsman Mag . to find a whole article about the perennial Erysimum by the National plant collection holder Simon Weeks , ..
, the 'Jenny Brook' was discovered in 2001 as a chance seedling in a garden on the west coast of Wales , The gardener Roger Handley, spotted it's potential and took cuttings , from these the plants were trialled ... .

Thanks, Amy! I don't get 'The Plantsman' but I can borrow it from my friend - that article should be interesting. :-))

19 Mar, 2010
Did you get one, Holly?
19 Mar, 2010
Pretty colours, Sh....
19 Mar, 2010
Thank you, Tt. :-))

I used to have `Bowles Mauve` until last Summer when it keeled over for good. I rather fancy `Jenny Brook` as a replacement. :o)
19 Mar, 2010
I hope you find her, then! :-)
19 Mar, 2010
not yet .... i may get one next week...
20 Mar, 2010

I love this one Spritz, 3 of mine have had to go after 2 years. I will be replacing them they are always in flower :-)))
24 Mar, 2010
lol... Barbara......

They don't seem to be long-lived, do they Annella. I read that taking cuttings is the answer.
Holly! I said SSHHHH!!!!!.....don't laugh, or everyone will know!

that's a pretty one, I've lost Bowles mauve this winter, I'll be looking for some new replacements at the Cornwall show soon :))))
26 Mar, 2010
I think you'll find several, with any luck. The breeders are producing more and more! :-) Sorry about your Bowles. These do seem to succumb when they're a bit older, don't they.
26 Mar, 2010
I wasn't too worried, as it was in a part of the border that needed drastic reconstruction, so I can now get some of the newer ones ;)
27 Mar, 2010
Now that's what I call a 'good' reason for a visit to the GC, Grindle! ;-)
27 Mar, 2010
:))))))))))
28 Mar, 2010
Will you go to our favourite?? I shall sometime in April!! They'll have their perennials in stock then. :-)
28 Mar, 2010
I'm hoping to get back there sometime, but I have a couple of shows too, hopefully I might get some nice finds there
29 Mar, 2010
Good luck. They're tiring, but great for 'finds'. xx
