A couple of years ago i found feathers of one of my doves in garden, and the other one just sat on the feeding post for two days and never moved then i did'nt see it for a few mths, but that was in the middle of summer, BB told me that it would just go away till the mating season is over, and then when it at molted its feathers it would come back, and true to BB's word it did come back with a new partner.

I think it could be nesting San .. Snowball's mate has been missing since a week last monday I read that it can take 14/18 days for the eggs to hatch it will be two weeks this monday , it will be interesting to see if Snowball disappears to go and help feed the babies if that is what is happening ......

Sandra its a coincidence but I have only seen one of my doves for the past three weeks and they too were always around together, so do hope they are nesting too and nothing sinister has happened.;0(

I hope not too Sanbaz but they are usually always together fingers crossed. They are not too good as nest builders and are known to loose eggs and young, Which means they tend to breed a lot so perhaps thats it?
