Dawn..our wisteria is covered with big fat buds ! We are over the moon ! At least it didnt succumb to all the snow and hard frosts !

That's great news about the wisteria :-))) Looks like mine isnt going to flower again then. I'm going to follow your advice and buy on in flower so I know its not a dud.

When did you prune it Dawn...and how old is it ? Ray says that if youre going to get another now is the time..you should be able to see the buds with colour just showing through...

I pruned the wispy side shoots about 4 weeks ago and its about 3 years old.

Okay Dawn..Ray says prune the wispy side shoots in summer by a foot and then in February prune again to about a finger length from the main stem.If no sign of buds now might be worth a hard prune...or if as you suspect it may be a dud.

Aye Dawn..seems severe..when we bought ours 2 years ago it was basically two twigs ..bare stems..with a couple of big buds.Ray was raving over it...I thought whats the fuss ? Now I know why...it is flying across the front of the cottage just waiting to bloom ! All for a fiver ....... Lol
