Karen...we have bats in the church belfry next door...dont usually see them until late April.........

That's interesting Bb, I've never really noted when they start appearing before. I guess that like us, after the cold, they are desperate to get out and get some air. That reminds me - A local bee keeper was telling me that the bees couldn't get out all winter to do a poo. Apparently they need 10 degrees to get out, otherwise they just foul their hives and this causes all kinds of disease and problems. He said that on a mild day, if the washing is out and they come out to do their duty, the laundry is covered with little mustard coloured dots and his wife gets jolly cross!! I'd never heard of this before and found it fascinating!

we have bats to karen which we see swooping around our garden and surrounding houses, love to watch them :o)

I saw a butterfly flutter across the garden yesterday. Lovely to see one at rest, BB, a real summer feel to the photo :)
