That's interesting Bb, I've never really noted when they start appearing before. I guess that like us, after the cold, they are desperate to get out and get some air. That reminds me - A local bee keeper was telling me that the bees couldn't get out all winter to do a poo. Apparently they need 10 degrees to get out, otherwise they just foul their hives and this causes all kinds of disease and problems. He said that on a mild day, if the washing is out and they come out to do their duty, the laundry is covered with little mustard coloured dots and his wife gets jolly cross!! I'd never heard of this before and found it fascinating!

A smashing, clear pic as usual. I've seen lots of Tortoiseshell and Peacocks this year but we are much further south than you.
