Amazing, Amy, I never ever had any luck with this one. Doesn't look like it's anywhere near expiring on you. I think that you should keep it in its pot until end of May, then plant out in similar conditions as you would with a clematis - feet in the shade, head in the sun. :-))

Thanks David , I will wait a bit longer then , it was allowed out into the fresh air today without it's lemonade bottle covering it ..LOL.. .. I shall be thrilled if it grows like the ones in your photos ...
Did you notice what looks like a cannon ball behind the pot ? Apparently they use to pull these through land drains to clear them out !! it weighs a ton....( nearly ) ...

Really?!! I thought it was a stoneware pot (silly me). It's fascinating now that you have told us what it really is. How did you get it up there? :-))

Amy, I thought you wore that in the garden to slow you down ! :-))

Afterthought! How did they get dragged through the drains? Chained to the legs of condemned pirates, before they were then made to walk the plank? Hmmmmm - it's beautfiful!! :-))

LOL Muddy ... I don't need a ball and chain to slow me down .. :o)))
Yes David ... LOL.. I can just imagine it can't you ... all these little pirates clanking their way through the fenland drains , please don't make me laugh i've got a terrible cold and cough and it hurts ...LOL...
