Thanks everyone , i'm so excited .. they have been playing house all day ....
Snowball was obviously sent out to look for sticks he flew down and picked one up , didn't like the feel of it so he threw it down wandered across the lawn looking for another one when he came across the grain I had thrown down for them earlier he then decided it was time to tuck in , in all this time she ( Snowdrop ) was peeping from the doorway waiting for him to bring sticks back , you've guessed it , he returned empy handed .. I wonder if he had his ears boxed when she got him inside ....

I am astonished at how affectionate this pair are to each other they really do kiss all the time , i've never seen birds kiss like that before .. I feel so lucky to be able to watch them close to .... :o)

its a shame realy to say its true realy . im ashamed to be called human when i see what some people do .luckily enough im not to bad as lots of people on here seam to be . i guess you got to be close to nature to a lesser or grater degree if your into gardening to any degree.

They have been collecting twigs today , it's been so funny , Snowball hasn't quite got the hang of how to get a long stick through the entrance to the bird box , it bangs on both sides before he goes sideways , Mrs is waiting inside to place it correctly .. he comes out instantly looking very proud ... :o)

There are a lot of wicked people about Leigh , but a lot of good ones as well , I agree most gardening people have their hearts in the right place and nature is second nature to them .... :o)

Thanks Dd ... A 3rd white fantail arrived with them this morning ,had a look round and left , I'm convinced it was Snowdrops mum or dad making an inspection before leaving her to get on with her life ...LOL..

Snowball and Snowdrop have been busy today , Snowball has been collecting twigs depositing them in the box for Snowdrop to put in position ....
I picked some twigs up myself and layed them on the ground near the box so that he wouldn't have far to go looking for some , I mentioned this to my hubby he laughed and said he had done the same ...LOL.. talk about making them lazy .....

they`l get overweight amy and wont fit in the nesting box lol xx .

You're right Leigh , we should make them work and sing for their supper more ...LOL...

It is Dawn but it makes it hard to get on with other things when all you want to do is watch them ...LOL...

I can imagine Amy, very distracting but enjoyable. Wait until they're feeding, you'll be forever supplying goodies.

We are now Dawn , they think we have an ever lasting supply , talk about feeding on demand . they shout and I run . :o))

They're more intelligent than we think, arent they. I dont think it gets much better than Amy's diner.

Hi Ray . one thing I find odd is that they fly off every evening at dusk and don't return until approx. 8 am in the morning ... they have spent all day working on the nest and then leave it for the night .. do you think thats normal ?

Yes Amy...they will at some stage mate...and then the egg laying will commence ! Out for a night on the tiles ! Lol...

I think they've already done the mating bit Ray , they are at it all the time ...LOL...

Well my guess is they fly off to roost Amy ! The egg laying will be soon...and the nesting in the box will follow ! You are going to have a lovely family of doves to care for in the future ! It never ends..........x

Snowball has been so busy taking twigs in the box today while Mrs. has been in there putting them straight , I don't know how she has room to move .. :o)

They seem to have lots of energy Amy. Do they mind you being around in the garden Amy? Or are they quite tame.

They don't mind us at all Dawn , Tony has been clattering and banging generally making a lot of noise close to them today , they didn't take any notice , they are so use to us , we can easily walk past them when they are on the ground they just move out of the way .. :o) ..

That's brilliant Amy, you are so lucky. It would be awful if you were giving them a wide berth all the time, to avoid disturbing them.

An exciting update .... Snowball and Snowdrop didn't leave the nesting box last night , snowdrop sat in the box while Snowball sat on top , today they have been taking it in turns to sit on eggs .... we haven't seen the eggs but we are pretty sure thats what they are doing there's always one in there sitting ...... I'm so excited :o))

you bet they have you can feal it .there energy is showing you rather than your eyes amy.good luck.ive just read something i wrote on here about 27 answers back . i was saying about learning of nature and bad people but my bad grammer which strangley enough goes hand in hand with my bad spelling has made it look like i said lots of people on here are bad but what i mean is the opposit so i do apolagise .

Gee I am watching them most of the time .. I'm watching them at the sink, while I'm cooking , eating my meals , I hate to miss a thing ...LOL..

I can't wait to see if they will stay or be banished to their own territory Ray .. I think it takes about 3 weeks before they hatch but I'm not sure about that ...

pidgeons,doves etc are very sociable animals though they wont want to inbreed so just keep ya fingers crossed amy xx.

I'm watching them like a Hawk Leigh ... ..oh no ! I hope the one that hangs about here dosn't arrive on the scene .......
