a cheer me up treat from barton grange, a bit more costly than i would normally pay but wasnt sure i would get it from a cheaper place

its rather windy so hope its ok in the barrel where i have it michaella,, got some yellow mimulus to plant around it to ;o)

They do tend to be pricey but so worth it - the mimulus will look well around it - I am so loving the barrel too

angie you may remember the barrel as water feature but now i have pond i didnt need this, so thats why i changed it into planter ;o)

Great use of the barrel San , the Maple will look gorgeous in that , the orange colour is a nice change , will the leaves darken as it ages do you think ?

thanx amy, the leaves have orange in new growth then go golden as season goes on, so should be lovely, needs some protection in winter if in pot it says, so will wrap it up over winter ;o)

This will do well in the tub Sanbaz. I have four in tubs, all different and I paid about the same for one of mine, at a nursery. I paid under four pounds for another at WIlkinson's and under £10 for another at Focus. Just shows you how the prices vary although the WIlkinsons one was small it's very healthy and is a pulmatum, the dark red leaved one.

cheers linda i have a dark red one to and had its a good few years, repotted it last year because it started to look very sad but fine now ;o)
