I need to get on with the gardening! I don't mind throwing his ball occasionally - but if he chews the last one up, how will OH manage to take him out with the ball-thrower? I believe you can buy 2nd hand tennis balls on eBay - we'll have to get some. The pet balls are useless - he chews them up at a rate of one per day! LOL.

lol barbara, its hard to get a strong ball or toy for a lab i went through loads when i had my lab to, you can get really strong rubber cricket balls and they are strong, my neighbours son has one which i found in my garden one day ;o((

Thanks, Dd. You know their temperament, then. Did Captain like stones? Henry's mum and grandma both did/do. We saw them when we first met H. as a bundle of fur!

No luckily he was not bothered with stones, was not keen on the rain and standing still (hated you having a chat with anyone, he would whine, until you moved)

H. stands still, but when I start off again, he barks at me as if he's telling me off! LOL. He's funny about rain - he doesn't like going out in it for 'personal things' lol, but when it comes to a walk, NO probs!
