Thanks!! - I wish I'd taken a note of its name...I 'think' I bought it at Kelways. I also think they have a website. Detective work needed here. :-))))

Soo beautiful Spritz.....

Gorgeous....I could become quite obsessed with these if I had the room! I planted a bi-colour this spring, but I doubt I'll get flowers this year.....:-(

Patience, patience! ;-)

Lovely could see this one in our purple and yellow border.....

'If' and 'when' I've got time, I'll look at the Kelways' list and see if I can find out its name....I'd quite like to know, as well!

I bought a couple on e-bay....the seller gave a link to photos of his garden - absolutely chocca block full of bearded irises! I sent him a message telling him about GoY and saying folks would love to see his piccies, but he didn't want to :-( I tried.

Shame - we'd have enjoyed looking at some beauties!

Oh that is such a beauty Spritz.........

I had a look at Kelways, but couldn't identify it from any of their pics B. It could be that they don't have it in stock of course.....they do have some nice ones though!...I really have to move and get a bigger garden ;)

Lovely one, that.

Thanks...I KNOW I bought it at Kelways Nursery - two years ago when we went to see 'Paeony Valley' there. Now that was a deep disappointment. It was soooo weed-ridden that you could hardly see the flowers, and I made notes to see which ones I'd like, only to find a list in the Nursery to say that only a few would be available as bare-rooted plants to order. The ones I'd writen down were not on that list.
I do hope they've got it sorted now - I saw it advertised again for this year.

Thats gorgeous - I have quite a few out but its been soooo windy, frightened they will break, I am having nightmares about everything dying when I go away for a week!!! what a silly moo for booking a hol in June. mmmmmmm........
31 May, 2010
Yes Patricia! I did exactly that last year....never again...all holidays from now on will be during our quiet times!
31 May, 2010
Just lovely.

Thanks. They aren't lasting long this year, are they? The wind yesterday shrivelled my maroon ones. :-((
31 May, 2010
Yeah, mine arn't lasting long....I remember last year the irises and delphiniums were full out together for a long while - the the delphs have only just started opening today. My beardies are shorter this year too! Anyone else found that?
31 May, 2010
No, but the delphiniums are very late. I've only got a few in bloom.
31 May, 2010
Not sure if my delphs are late or not really....but the beardies are defo shorter and are not lasting... :-(

Such a shame - I ended up with three left in bloom yesterday, but none today. That's how fast they're shrivelling up.

Yeah, my deep reds are a distant memory now, but the blues are still going for now. You can get repeat flowerers these days, but I've never tried them.
