My favourite clematis !
She grows through an aucuba, eleagnus and on a medium height wire obelisk !!!

It's usually starting here about now Karen, then goes on into autumn - she must be the last to leave !
I cut her to the ground, well almost, each year in late winter.

I won't see any flowers on mine until July I don't think, but well worth the wait! I have it growing through a dwarf pear tree....never makes any pears but hey, she makes up for it!

I have this one, its a real beauty isnt it? , I have just read your comment on pruning the Clematis Pillau Which I also have. I also commented on Daylillys photo of this one regarding it starting off as a single flower but now (the second year) its a beautiful double. I couldnt believe it when it bloomed this year and it had these double blooms. I read your answer about the pruning and found this really helpful so at least I know now that I wasnt imagining it !!!!!!!!!!!! So thanks for that info.,
