Nettle rust with nettle pollen beetle.

Is this growing on a stinging nettle? Not seen this before and I have lots of nettles, lol.

This is surreal, really strange photo.

I though of an Octopus tentacle when I first looked at this, how very strange !

When first saw it thought it must be some form of insect .. yes Dawn those with flowers in background nettle flowers just emerging.The little beetle lives only on nettles and pollenates them .. its thought they carry the fungus spores too.

How strange Bonkersbon, its a beautiful shape and colour though I shall watch to see my nettles now lol.
