South of the Alaska Range I stopped at a pond filled with pond lily, large and healthy. I like the brightness and those classic water lily leaves. :-)

I agree Gee, against the dark water, it really stands out.....we have a similar type that grows here Gt.....but the lutea.

TY. Lovely to see them. I do wish it was cooler, it was about 28C that day. A solstice trip, no darkness. Things were booming. I would think this lily is pretty widespread around the northern hemisphere in cool waters. These are so large!. :-)

Thanks Richard. What I wouldn't have given that day to have a canoe or something so I could get out there and look close.

All my zoom and some clipping to get this. They were prob 15ft away. And in Alaska, pond water is icy cold or with maybe an ice shield beneath it.
Thank you. Lovely to get to see a waterlily for me Raquel. Nice sunshine yellow of summer.
