The high temps have only been around 79 degrees F/ 26 degrees C here...9 degrees below normal. Downtown San Diego has been even cooler. So far, we're having the coolest July in 80 years...however, it could turn out to be the coolest ever on record.

The bananas may not ripen until October.

My biggest concern is...we may potentially have extremely hot weather from August to December without any rain...and we're still on water restrictions.
It'll be interesting to see what happens.

That is worry as the risk of fires will increase as well. My sister was very lucky in the last big fires you had as it swept through the bottom of her road wrecking a few houses, but she was very lucky her house was ok but a few people were not so lucky..

The 2007 Witch Fire was a huge extremely destruction...although not quite as bad as the Cedar Fire which when almost half of San Diego County was on fire.
It was the largest urban fire in California's recorded history.

Yes, fires are a huge concern this year. With a little more rain than normal and lost of dry grass now. When the Santa Ana Winds start in Fall the fires storms will probably be very bad.

There's a huge fire right now east of Los Angeles in the high desert. Even though the temps have been slightly below normal there...it's still consistently above 100 degrees F./ 38 degrees C.
