multi head sunflower

This looks identical to some we had growing down on the allotment this summer! I saved some of the seeds to plants next year.
We had many multi headed Sunflowers down there.

There are loads of them growing down of the allotment - they are just as bad as weeds! I'm having to pull the things up all the time!!!
On the other hand I do let them grow where they don't interfere too much with what I've planted or plan to plant. Some have even started flowering during the last few days!
I have two beds planted up with dozens of plants in each row. These are for Gerry to harvest the seeds for his aviary birds over the winter.
Three years ago I won the 1st prize for the tallest Sunflower on the allotments field! Like the picture above it was multi-headed. In fact that's the one in my avatar photo!

OMGosh balc! i just had a closer look at your pic. thats amazing! i cant believe theyre just popping up, im having trouble! the ones that got eaten by slugs are perking up again now and i have four in the greenhouse only about 20cm so im worried the wont happen this year, esp. with the weather the way it is! i wanted them to attract some birds to my garden-they dont seem to bother with the feeder! :o)

Have a look at some of my allotment blogs & you will find photos of Sunflowers in some of them. Some self-sown are actually flowering at this moment on the allotment!
None of the Sunflowers I sowed have begun to flower as yet. But then they were sown in the middle of May while the self-sown ones have been growing since before May even began! Obviously they have to TLC but are left to do their "own thing" - while they don't bother me or my plantings!
I'll upload a photo to my Photos so you can see what I mean. In the photo I'm going to upload there are about 9 -10 Sunflowers. As they aren't in flower you will have to look carefully for them but as they are at least knee high you shouldn't have any trouble in find some of them!
