This is where I lived from 1951 until 1971.

The cottage overlooks the Welland Valley. So those of you who know Rutland or even live there might know the village that I lived in. BTW are there any Goy members from Rutland?.

@ sixpence. I was only able to photograph the cottage from the lane and really didn´t take much notice of the garden and plants. Since I left home in 1971 it has changed hands a few times and has been moderised, mains water, mains sewerage etc etc. Looking through the Rutnet property guide last year it was up for sale again for about 400.000 pounds (sorry my german keyboard hasn´t got the pound key). If my old dad knew what they were selling it for he would turn in his grave !. I know how much he sold it for in 1972...just over a 100th of what they were asking for last year,

@ Christina, why did I move away...hmmmm, the word has 5 letters "WOMEN"
among other things, but I don´t know how much of my private life I should write about here, I´ll leave that for facebook..hih.

@ sixpence "LOL Rogi", what a stupid login name I have got to use, it sounds like when I was about 3 years old and my mum (bless her soul) used to call me in for dinner "Now come and have some dinner Rogi" but the log in name I wanted was taken, I wanted Roger of course or Roger B or just Rog, but now here I am stuck with Rogi in Goy..hihi.

Lol you could have Roger Rabbit not saying of course you will get Jessica Rabbit lol, you were lucky your mother called you in so gently, there were seven of us and when we were all out playing my mother would shout all our names to come in for dinner the whole neighbourhood could hear or my father would whistle us with fingers in mouth.

Yes a lovely place to grow up in, but as a young person one doesn´t appreciate it...pity...I just took it for granted.

Beautiful cottage Roger.....sad that it's not part of your life now, but good that someone has made it into a beautiful modern home.
