Dianella caerulea

I bought one of these a couple of years ago from Malvern Dianella 'Tasmanica', they had a huge plant on display and loved it because like you say the berries were amazing, plants growing well but no flowers or berries yet, growing in a pot as didn't want to risk it outside in winter while it was small, but think it'll be pretty hardy, as survived last year in unheated greenhouse no problem.

Haven't seen the flowers yet, but it's well worth it for the berries alone.

just spotted those this weekend in London - just outside Hyde Park. Was trying to find the name, but it was difficult.
and also think it should be hardy - growing in a border with other hardy plants.

The thing that strikes me still is how far away they were when they caught my eye - the colour was that striking!!

Steve - the photo caught the shade well, but somehow not the intensity of the blue (if that makes any sense at all).

Yes I think I have seen this one also on the corner just as you go into Hyde Park so it must be hardy. Surprising you dont see it around more good stuff

Thought of you today Meanie, saw one of these at a local garden centre with cream and green striped leaves!!!! very nice, nearly bought it only £6.99 but then it said it had to be overwintered indoors, obviously not as hardy as the plain green, and soo many plants to bring in already, just no room.
