Another thought, although I'm unfamiliar with your camera, is which shooting mode do you use?
If it lives in one mode, try using another mode, (close up for example).
I'm having so much fun relearning, and learning (with regards to the different tools which are built in to modern digital cameras).

yes lots of different modes meanie, also have micro and many more so will keep trying thanx ;o)

Which photo editor are you using?
In the main I use Windows Live Photo Gallery- nice, simple and easy to use.
My other is Irfanview, which is a free download. This is really useful for reducing the size of photos without cropping them. It will also allow you to review the photo information (mode, flash setting amongst others) which I found useful as I was getting to grips with it all.

i use windows meanie as it is easy, i also have picassa 3 which is free, i think it does depend alot on camera and kknowing how to use it to full potential, and in my case its trial and error lol
thanx carol i love it but as im saying to meanie my reds seem more like orange on pics, not true red as they should be ;o))

My camera doesn`t really bring out the best as far as colour goes, whatever setting its on. I`m getting a new one very soon so I hope I have more luck with it. Lovely photo Sandra, I have `Queen Victoria` too but can`t get a good enough photo to post.....

I have a Panasonic and mine struggles with closeup@s on red like San,s picture..
Keep messing around with setting,s try using a darker background or higher ISO like 800 + for example

If you are thinking of replacing your camera at some point, give the chains a miss and seek out an independent camera shop. They'll be more than happy to look at photos such as this if you take them in and advise you on what will suit your needs best. Most employ staff who are into and understand photography.

It could be your camera - mine struggles with some blues. I find then that they work out better under flash conditions at night.
The stems look truer to life, so I wonder which exposure mode that the camera is set to (daylight, sunny, overcast etc). It can be frustrating working things out sometimes. But back in the days of film it was even worse - a change of the make of film made such a difference, yet by the time it was developed it was too late!
