Wild Plums for Shirleys Plum Cake

They look good Carole and so useful to have , we had one in our hedgerow it died suddenly we think it was old age it didn't look very healthy ......

I've made it twice, but I'm not sure if my mixture is the right consistency. It seems a bit too wet.

I can smell it cooking Carole, don't forget I was first on the list this time for a taste lol. Lovlely crop.

Havent had a problem Linda if anything the cake is quite firm, wonder if its anything to do with different ovens or even the size of the eggs?;0)

Made another one today, and it's come out fine. When I re-read the recipe, I'd been using too many plums. As it happens my plums have been quite juicy, so I don't think that helped. I've been using 8 instead of 8ozs. lol

I just checked the recipe I posted on here in case I'd made an error !

It is scrummy. Handy to have pen and paper. I wrote it down and put with my other recipes in my cookbook. :o))
