They are gorgeous autumn shades aren't they....the gardener here really knows her stuff....I wasn't sure if the dark red shrub was a type of cotoneaster or berberis, but whichever, it is a real beauty.

Looks like berberis doesnt it - did you notice if it had thorns.

Surely it is purple leaved Berberis thunbergii (where did Cot. amoenus come from?)

I didn't Dawn.....wasn't close enough, but yes I would think Berberis.
I would say it is Vincent, but something about it, made me think it was cotoneaster, when I visit this park again, I'll have a closer look.
